MPU Held “Mapping Workshop: As a Public Action”
In order to broaden students’ artistic insights, the Faculty of Arts and Design of Macao Polytechnic University recently held the “Mapping Workshop: As a Public Action”. This workshop invited Associate Professor Jason Ho, School of Architecture South China University of Technology, as the guest speaker. Associate Professor Wong In Nga, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Arts in Design hosted the seminar. It attracted the students of Macao Polytechnic University, as well as students from other universities in Macao.
Mapping is a process of discovering the hidden features of a space through personal experience and presenting reality. Dr. Jason Ho shared how to involve the bodies in various stories in the community, and how to observe the real usage of daily space. He emphasized that architects' works need to return back to the society, to create events through the space, and to connect people with others, space, and society.
Dr. Jason Ho had an exchange with the students and discussed the experiences in design.
