MPU Students Visited Climate Change Photography Exhibition to Learn about Sustainable Social Development

In order to promote the students’ understanding of sustainable social development, the Faculty of Arts and Design of Macao Polytechnic University organized students to visit the "Know Heaven, Know Earth: Oxfam in Macau Climate Change Photography Exhibition" organized by Oxfam. The organization delivered a guided tour and environmental soap workshop. The visit was very fruitful.

Through the guided tour of this photography exhibition, students learned about the climate issues faced by different communities in mainland China and Asia, as well as the creative strategies for sustainable social development, and learned about community resource sharing in Macao. During the workshop, the students also learned about the environmental damage caused by daily detergents through workshops and learned how to use recycled materials to make homemade eco-friendly soap. Through the visit, the students learned how to achieve a low-carbon living, energy saving and environmental protection, also learned to pay attention to ecological issues from the perspective of environmental protection. These helped them to think about how to participate in the sustainable social development through art and design practice in the future.

The Faculty of Arts and Design of Macao Polytechnic University is committed to provide different teaching methods in the arts field. Through organizing various learning activities, exhibitions and field visits, it lets the students go into the community and practice different new forms of arts. It promotes the students' understandings of arts as well as sustainable social development.
