MPU Teachers and Students Attend the 2024 UNESCO "Creative Cities Network" Working Meeting

To expand the international perspectives of teachers and students, and promote collaborative exchanges in the creative cultural field, teachers and students from the Design Programme of the Faculty of Art and Design at Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) attended the 2024 UNESCO Creative Cities Network working meeting at the invitation of the Macao Government Tourism Office. They engaged with experts and scholars from around the world to discuss how to advance the sustainable development of global creative cities.

The 2024 UNESCO Creative Cities Network meeting focused on “How to Promote the Sustainable Development and Cross-Sectoral Collaboration of Global Creative Cities.” Representatives from the UNESCO representatives of creative cities, the heads of the secretariat, experts, scholars, and design masters from various countries or cities in different regions, including Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and domestic creative city representatives from Beijing, Macao, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Shunde, Jingdezhen, Chongqing, Qingdao, Huai'an, Changsha, and Weifang, were invited to participate.

Representatives from MPU shared Macau’s achievements and experiences in the creative cultural field, highlighting resource sharing and cross-border collaborations in areas such as design, culture, and creative gastronomy. Through this exchange, teachers and students engaged with experts from diverse cultural backgrounds, broadening their international perspectives and laying a solid foundation for promoting the sustainable development of Macao’s creative cultural field in the future.
