MPU FAD Holds “The Cube” Exhibition to Showcase Teaching Achievements

Hosted by the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts Programme at the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), “The Cube” - Student Work Exhibition 2024, officially opened at the MPU Cultural and Creative Gallery. The theme of this exhibition is the Cube, and it showcases outstanding works by first- and second-year students from the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts Programme, and comprehensively presents students' exceptional achievements in creativity and technology, as well as the process of transforming ideas into concrete works using a variety of design tools.

The exhibition covers learning outcomes in three disciplines: “Character and Scene Design,” “3D Modelling and Visualisation,” and “Visual Communication Design”. In the “3D Modelling and Visualisation” section, students utilized 3D printing technology to transform their designs into three-dimensional lamps, showcasing their deep understanding of design, materials and technology. The works of “Character and Scene Design” feature a variety of character concepts and scene settings, inviting visitors to explore the students' unique perspectives on character creation and storytelling. Meanwhile, works in the “Visual Communication Design” section emphasize effective information delivery, reflecting the students' expertise in visualizing and communicating information.

The MPU Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts Programme aims to nurture high-calibre media arts professionals via a curriculum accentuating multidisciplinary learning across arts, design and technology. Students develop their communication skills, international vision, intercultural understanding, and innovative thinking while acquiring media arts knowledge and skills in game interaction, technological art, and video narrative. Students are given internship opportunities to keep pace with the latest developments in the cultural and creative industries. Through blended learning on theory and practice, students are cultivated to bring innovation to society through the media arts profession.
