MPU FAD Showcases Students’ Creations in Joint Exhibition of 3D Art and Receives Enthusiastic Response
Works exhibited by students from the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts of MPU FAD

 

The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts Programme in the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) held the “Between Shaping” Three-Dimensional Art Students’ Works Joint Exhibition. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was officiated by Acting Dean of FAD, Associate Professor Lai Mei Kei; President of Ox Warehouse, Mr. Ng Fong Chao; President of the Macao Sculpture Association, Mr. Ng Sang Kei; the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts Programme Coordinator, Associate Professor Tian Yuan; and the student representatives Ms. Wang Weike and Ms. Mao Jiaqi.

The theme of the exhibition “Between Shaping” emphasized the process and results of “shaping”, showing the creative process of sculpture art from scratch. It fully demonstrated the achievements of the students in MPU. Through the production of sculptures, the students learn the techniques of terracotta, soft clay and plaster carving as the basis for their creations, which stimulate their diversified thinking and unlimited creativity in art creation.

The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts of MPU aims to cultivate a unified humanistic experience, enrich artistic aesthetics and develop personal attributes, and to educate students to understand the importance of visual arts to society. Through organizing various activities, the programme promotes exchanges and cooperation between teachers and students and art professionals at home and abroad, broadens international perspectives, facilitates exchanges between Chinese and Western visual arts, promotes innovative development, and nurtures visual arts talents with creative, teaching and innovative abilities.
