MPU Representatives Attends the Annual Conference of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance

To expand the art education exchange of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Universities and promote creative arts field cooperation, Associate Professor Tian Yuan, Programme Coordinator of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts, and Mr Chung Siu Wing, Programme Coordinator of the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) at the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) were invited to attend the Annual Conference of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance, which was held by the School of Art at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Economics. The conference brought together art elites from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to discuss innovative approaches to cultivating artistic talent and explore the development of art education in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This event obtained fruitful results.

The conference, with the theme of “Opportunities and Challenges: Art Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, gathers experts and scholars from universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, who engage in in-depth discussions on how artificial intelligence (AI) technology has impacted artistic creation models, teaching methods, and interdisciplinary integration. Programme Coordinator Chung Siu Wing addressed how AI tools could be applied to daily programming instruction to help with art programme teaching. His comprehensive content, with clear case studies, received positive feedback from attendees.

The Faculty of Arts and Design at Macao Polytechnic University actively participates in collaborative projects within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance, including academic conferences, seminars, art and design exhibitions. Through exchanges with the top art universities valuable teaching practices can be shared, and the integration of art programmes and technologies deepened to help nurture a new generation of artists.
