                NURS6102    Advanced Pathophysiology          3       45 hrs    ---
                            This module focuses on the changes of functions and metabolism of diseases. It enables

                            students to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis of etiology. The contents
                            include:the  concepts  and  theories  of  advanced  pathophysiology;  case  studies  on
                            specific  diseases  for  in-depth  understanding  of  etiology  and  pathogenesis,  enhancing
                            students’ clinical thinking and enhancing nursing quality through their clinical decision-
                            making.
                NURS6103    Advanced Nursing Pharmacology      3      45 hrs    ---
                            This  module  aims  to  equip  students  with  more  in-depth  knowledge  about  clinical
                            pharmacology  and  pharmacotherapeutics.  The  contents  include : classifications,
                            indications, major adverse effects, potential drug-drug interactions and precautions of
                            different medications;  pharmacotherapeutic plans and clinical guidelines  for common
                            diseases; and monitoring of the effectiveness and safety of different medications.
                NURS6104    English Academic Writing          3       45 hrs    ---
                            This module aims to equip students to understand the basic aspects of written English,
                            and know how to apply it in extended writing. The students will study the characteristics
                            of English academic texts, and will be able to express academic views in English more
                            effectively. The contents include:1) Part 1 (12 hours): Understanding written English
                            and writing English effectively; 2) Part 2 (12 hours): Writing academic English reports,
                            articles and papers; and 3) Part 3 (6 hours): Modifying and improving what was written
                            in Part 2.

                NURS6105    Geriatric Nursing                 6       90 hrs    ---
                            This module aims to help students explore issues related to the care of the elderly and
                            the  role  of  specialist  medical  staff  in  interdisciplinary  care  for  the  elderly  with
                            intellectual disabilities and their families. The contents include:the evolution of human
                            aging,  biology,  pathophysiology  and  biochemical  aging  processes  and  age-related
                            diseases  such  as  dementia,  cognitive  impairment  and  related  disorders;  psychosocial
                            aging; the future of human aging, related issues and ethical considerations; and patterns
                            and limitations of human aging.
                NURS6106    Cancer Nursing                    6       90 hrs    ---
                            This module strengthens students’ concept and practice of cancer care. The contents
                            include:the epidemiology and physiology of cancer; cancer treatment, primary health
                            care, the application and implementation system in cancer caring.
                NURS6107     Emergency and Critical Nursing   6       90 hrs    ---
                            This  module  describes  the  scope  of  the  two  major  nursing  specialties:  Emergency
                            Nursing  and  Critical  Nursing.  The  contents  include : epidemiology  of  accident
                            prevention  and  injury;  emergency  care  for  adults  and  children;  life-saving  grief  after
                            trauma; physical examination of emergency patients; medical and surgical emergency
                            care, and acute illness care at different stages of life; and basic and intensive care of
                            critical care and its quality management, as well as clinical skills and interpretation of
                            special conditions for ECG, arterial blood gas and X-ray chest radiographs and critical
                            care.
