                NURS6121    Research Methods and Ethics       3       45 hrs    ---
                            This  module  aims  to  emphasize  the  students  to  master  and  apply  scientific  research
                            method,  can  develop  the  research  projects,  and  discuss  the  practice  issues  including
                            literature review and writing a research proposal. The contents include:key principles
                            of research methods; research processes and ethical principles; quantitative research;
                            qualitative  research;  mixed  research  methods;  and  management  of  nursing  research
                            projects.
                NURS6122    Nursing Theory                    2       30 hrs    ---
                            This module explains and analyzes nursing professional concepts, nursing theories and
                            models.  The  contents  include : the  basic  concepts  of  nursing  theory;  Florence
                            Nightingale’s  nursing  philosophy;  Watson’s  humanistic  care  model;  Orem’s  self-care
                            model;  Roy’s  adaptation  model;  Newman’s  health  care  system  model;  King’s  goal
                            attainment theory; and Leininger’s transcultural nursing theory.

                NURS6124    Evidence-Based Nursing            3       45 hrs    ---
                            The  module  focuses  on  evidence-based  nursing  theory  and  practice.  The  contents

                            include : the  development  of  evidence-based  health  care;  concepts,  steps  and
                            significance of evidence-based nursing; data information retrieval, and quality appraisals
                            of literature; the characteristics and grading of different kinds of evidence; systematic
                            reviews; meta-analysis, meta-synthesis, clinical practice guidelines; and applications and
                            evaluations  of  evidence,  the  best  kinds  of  evidence  that  are  used  in  intensive  care,
                            patient safety and nosocomial infection control.
                NURS6125    Advanced Health Assessment        2       30 hrs    ---

                            This module is a practical-oriented study of basic theories, essential skills and clinical
                            thinking  approach  regarding  the  physiological,  psychological  and  social  adaptation  of
                            individuals  in  response  to  existing  or  potential  health  problems  from  a  nursing
                            perspective.  The  contents  include:advanced  theory  and  skills  of  health  assessment;
                            clinical  thinking  and  clinical  decision-making  ability  through  case  analysis;  laboratory
                            results analysis; comprehensive analysis of clinical cases, etc.

                Research Orientation:

                NURS6123    Health Education and Promotion    2       30 hrs    ---
                            This module aims to strengthen students' use of different methods to identify the health
                            needs of the population, plan intervention strategies and evaluate the effectiveness to
                            promote  public  health.  The  contents  include:the  theory  of  health  education  and
                            promotion; the definition and influencing factors of health, health education and health
                            promotion; the strategies and methods of discussion, implementation and evaluation of
                            health  education  and  promotion;  related  ways  to  explore  different  health  education
                            pathways; ethical considerations for health education and promotion; recognition of the
                            contribution and collaboration of other professions in health education.
