                 CUED6105     Research Methods                 3       45 hrs    ---
                              This course unit aims to provide practical and effective help for students to start engaging

                              in  cultural  and  educational  research  and  thesis  writing.  Through  explanations,
                              demonstrations, and organizing student exercises, teachers guide students in topics such
                              as thesis selection, data retrieval, and collection, data analysis, discussion structure, the
                              main points of thesis writing, etc., and introduce traditional research methods based on
                              positivism and interpretivism: questionnaire survey Statistical software is used to analyze
                              the application conditions, implementation requirements, research procedures and steps
                              of  the  method,  statistical  analysis  method,  general  qualitative  research,  narrative
                              research,  case  study,  historical  research,  and  comprehensive  comparative  research.
                              Cultivate students' problem awareness and method awareness in the research process,
                              as  well  as  the  ability  to  comprehensively  apply  the  basic  theories  and  professional
                              knowledge they have learned, to independently analyze and solve practical problems,
                              and to write research papers.

                              Social and civic education is a course that uses social science theories and methods to
                              guide and influence people's social and civic awareness and code of conduct. Through
                              systematic theoretical elaboration and practical guidance, this course aims to promote
                              students'  deep  reflection  on  social  responsibility,  personal  and  social  values,  and
                              awareness of rights and obligations, to form personal basic views on issues related to
                              society and citizenship. It can be used in the "moral and civic education" course in primary
                              schools  and  the  educational  and  teaching  practices  of  other  education-related
                              departments, institutions, and organizations in society.
                 CUED6107     Heritage  and  Practice  of  Chinese  3   45 hrs   ---
                              Traditional Culture
                              Chinese traditional culture inheritance and practice course is a course that uses social

                              science  theories  and  methods  to  influence  students'  national  consciousness,  cultural
                              identity, and behavior choices. Through theoretical lectures and practical design, this
                              course  aims  to  promote  traditional  Chinese  culture,  improve  students'  humanistic
                              qualities,  and  enhance  students'  national  self-confidence  and  pride.  In  addition,  this
                              course  uses  the  teaching  practice  of  inheriting  Chinese  traditional  culture  to  guide
                              students  to  appreciate  the  profoundness  of  Chinese  traditional  culture  through
                              experiential participation.
               Remarks:
               *In order to fulfill the graduation requirements, students must complete 30 credits, including 21 credits of
               compulsory modules from Table I, 9 credits of electives modules from Table II.
