LLAW1110 Constitution and Basic Law 2 30 hrs ---
The Constitution and the Basic Law, being the legal bases of the Macao SAR, are embodied
in two aspects. First, “One country, two systems” is implemented through
institutionalisation and legalisation. The processes achieved the establishment of Macao
SAR and the formulation of the Basic Law according to the Constitution of the People's
Republic of China. Second, “One country, two systems, a high degree of autonomy, Macao
people governing Macao” are put into effect since the establishment of the Macao SAR
following the legal system.

CHIN2115 Intermediate Chinese I 6 90 hrs CHIN1110
This comprehensive Chinese course aims to enhance students' four basic skills such as
listening, speaking, reading and writing. Particular emphasis is laid upon improving their
proficiency in reading and writing, by means of intensive reading and practices of sample
texts and explanations of phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, characters of modern Chinese.
CHIN2116 Intermediate Chinese II 6 90 hrs CHIN2115
This course, as a continuation of Intermediate Chinese I, aims to further enhance students'
four basic skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing. Particular emphasis is laid
upon improving their proficiency in reading and writing, by means of intensive reading
and practices of sample texts and explanations of phonetics, vocabulary, grammar,
characters of modern Chinese.
CHIN2117 Listening and Speaking of 4 60 hrs CHIN1120
Intermediate Chinese I
This course focuses on the skills of Chinese listening and speaking. Students will have
extensive listening and speaking practices. The basic knowledge about the Mandarin
phonetics and rules for listening and speaking are covered to help students enhance their
proficiency in oral expressions. The similarities and differences between their native
tongue and Mandarin are identified to help students pronounce Chinese in a more
standard way.
CHIN2118 Listening and Speaking of 4 60 hrs CHIN2117
Intermediate Chinese II
This course is a continuation of Listening and Speaking of Intermediate Chinese I. Students
will have extensive listening and speaking practices. The basic knowledge about the
Mandarin phonetics and rules for listening and speaking are covered to help students
further enhance their proficiency in oral expressions. The similarities and differences
between their native tongue and Mandarin are identified to help students pronounce
Chinese in a more standard way.
CHIN2123 Chinese Reading III 3 45 hrs CHIN1114
For non-native speakers of Chinese, the lack of Chinese proficiency and background
information is usually the biggest obstacle when they are reading Chinese texts. This skills
oriented reading course aims to help students cross the reading barriers to grasp effective
reading skills and enhance their Chinese reading ability in a comprehensive way through
adequate reading training.
