The purpose of this Energy Management Policy is to promote sustainable energy use, enhance overall energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions at Macao Polytechnic University (hereinafter referred to as ‘the University’). Effective energy management is vital for minimizing environmental impact, mitigating climate change, and fostering a healthier living environment. In alignment with the national and Macao SAR government’s "dual carbon" initiative, the University leverages its academic strengths and communal efforts to work towards the government’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. By adopting energy-saving practices and utilizing cleaner energy sources, the University aims to cultivate a culture of energy responsibility and environmental awareness among all university stakeholders.
This policy applies to all university facilities, departments, individuals, and outsourced service providers and supply chains. It is expected that all service providers and supply chain partners will adhere to these principles and practices. By adopting this Energy Management Policy, the University affirms its commitment to sustainable energy practices, ensuring the responsible use and protection of energy resources for future generations.
