Net-Zero

Commitment

MPU actively responds to the national and Macao SAR government’s "dual carbon" initiative, leveraging our academic strengths and communal efforts to work towards the government’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. We align with the overall direction and objectives delineated in "Macao Long-term Carbon Reduction Strategy" (published by the Environmental Protection Bureau), which calls for implementing carbon reduction measures in sectors and phases, aiming to achieve the peak of carbon emissions before 2030, and prioritizing deep carbon reduction in the two major emission sectors of electricity and land transportation by 2050 to achieve near-zero emissions.
