SUSTAINABLE CULTURE

MPU promotes a collective effort to foster a sustainable development culture with active participation from all members. Sustainability is not just a concept but a way of life, requiring shared commitment and consistent actions. Through engagement of students, faculty, and staff, the university creates a community that embraces sustainable practices and values. Open dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing encourage a collective sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation and social well-being.

Initiatives like workshops, trainings, seminars, and promotional campaigns empower individuals with a deeper understanding of social and environmental sustainability and equip them with knowledge for positive impact. A supportive environment encourages innovation and the implementation of sustainable solutions.

With the active involvement of all members, a future is envisioned where sustainability is inherent in our identity and actions. Together, we build a sustainable culture that benefits our community and the world.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

“Earth Hour” – Lights Off for 1 Hour

In accordance with the "Earth Hour" campaign, initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), to draw the public's attention to climate change problems and energy conservation, all unnecessary lightings within our campus were turned off for 1 hour during the campaign. Staff and students were also encouraged to join the activity and turn off unnecessary lightings at home or in hostel rooms.

Red Packet Recycling Programme

In response to the Red Packet Recycling Programme held by the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau, red packet recycling boxes are placed on campus at MPU after the Chinese New Year. Staff and students are encouraged to dispose the undamaged red packets in the stated recycling boxes for environmental protection.
