Professor Xiangxiang Zeng: Frontier Advances in Intelligent Drug Development and the Potential of AI Technology

Professor Xiangxiang Zeng introduced the latest progress of his research group in the field of intelligent drug development. He highlighted that traditional drug development faces significant challenges, including high costs, long cycles, and low success rates. However, the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought new hope to this field. Professor Zeng's team has developed several AI-based tools, such as ImageMol and VideoMol, which have shown excellent performance in molecular property prediction and virtual screening, effectively accelerating the drug discovery process. In addition, they have constructed a large-scale biomedical knowledge graph for drug repositioning and drug interaction prediction. They have also successfully generated molecules with specific functions, such as antimicrobial peptides and hydrogel peptides, using AI technology. Currently, the team is developing ChatMol, aiming to advance a new paradigm in molecular science through large model technology. Professor Zeng stated that these achievements not only demonstrate the great potential of AI in drug development but also provide new ideas and methods for future intelligent drug design.
