MPU Advances Into to Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals

The 6th Huawei ICT Competition Asia-Pacific Region Awards Ceremony was successfully held on March 31st. The Macao Polytechnic University team, whom are registered in the Huawei Global ICT Competition-Network Track, went through several rounds of fierce competition in the Macao preliminary, final and Asia-Pacific regional competitions. Their performance really stood out. As a result, the MPU team is proudly advancing to the global finals as a regional representative.

Huawei ICT Competition is a competitive ICT talent exchange event initiated by Huawei for university students from all over the world. It aims to provide an international exchange platform for Huawei ICT Academy and universities that are willing to establish an ICT Academy. It helps students to increase their ICT knowledge, application skills and innovation awareness. The annual competition promotes the education, growth and employment of university talents in the fields of information, communication and technics. It also strives to create an enabling ICT talent ecosystem.

The 6th Huawei ICT Competition attracted a total of 5,300 students from 286 colleges and universities in the Asia-Pacific region. 27 teams in Network Track and 17 in Cloud Track from the Asia-Pacific region competed in March. The MPU team, composed of Wen Yuqiang, Zhang Boliang and Yao Yu excelled under the coaching of Associate Professor Tang Su Kit from the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The team has qualified for the global finals and will compete with teams from Western Europe, Latin America, Africa, Mainland China, the Middle East, and Eurasia.
