 Biography

Dr. Wang is currently a lecturer at Faculty of Applied Sciences, Macao Polytechnic University. His research mainly focuses on investigating complex magnetic materials based on Density Functional Theory (DFT). Materials such as transition metal compounds, emergent magnetic heterostructures, and newly discovered low-dimensional magnets are studied. Exchange mechanisms behind materials with non-trivial magnetic configurations, including spin-spiral and spin frustration, are explained. Properties such as magnetic exchange matrix, magnetic ordering temperature, and spin-wave spectrum are calculated to provide a complete picture of specific materials' magnetic interactions and magnetic excitations. In addition, Dr. Wang is also interested in studying magnetic materials with the following fascinating properties, such as magneto-electric and magnon-phonon coupling, as well as their potential application in the field of biomedicine.

Research methods include density functional theory (DFT), spin dynamics, and Monte Carlo.

In the past five years, Dr. Wang has published papers as the main author in first-class journals such as Phys. Rev. B, Phys. Rev. Materials, J. Phys. Chem. Lett., Adv. Energy Mater., etc. The research results are widely recognized, and he was invited as a reviewer for a Nature partner journal, npj 2D Materials & Applications.
