American College Test (ACT)
Introduction | The ACT (American College Test), administered by the American College Testing Organization (ACT Inc.), is a four-part test in mathematics, reading, science and English that measures the academic standards of high school students and their ability to complete college. The ACT is a requirement for admission to U.S. colleges and universities and serves as one of the main bases for awarding scholarships. Seventeen states in the United States require students to take the ACT. The ACT scores are widely recognized by more than 4,000 colleges and universities around the world and by all four-year colleges in the U.S. In 2019, nearly 1.8 million, or 52%, of U.S. high school graduates took the ACT. |
