Objectives
The programme aims to (1) develop students' English and Chinese communication skills, which they will need to serve as effective and responsible intermediaries between the two languages; and (2) enhance students' awareness of their prospective roles as language specialists in government, business and the professions in Macau's multilingual community.

Career Prospects
Graduates are employed as professional translators in the public or private sectors, as teachers of English, and as office staff in various Chinese or foreign institutions or enterprises. Graduates have the pathway to the Master of Arts in Chinese Translation and Interpreting at the University of Queensland (Australia). Students in Macao can proceed to the Master’s programme in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, a joint Master’s programme between the Beijing Language and Culture University and the Macao Polytechnic University.
