Objectives

The programme aims to prepare students to be translators and interpreters with good professional skills. Graduates must have a good level of Portuguese language, a strong command of Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), a solid grasp of English and be able to perform duties in translation and interpreting in Chinese/Portuguese and vice versa, in research fields, in teaching, as well as to perform administrative tasks.

Exchange Opportunity

One-year exchange study to Portugal is available.*

* Transportation, accommodation, insurance, living expenses and other expenses incurred during the exchange in Portugal are to be borne by the student. Students enrolled in the programme from the 2022/2023 academic year should pay the accommodation fees of the exchange period. Accommodation will be arranged by the host institution in Portugal. The accommodation fee is charged according to the standard rate of a non-single room corresponding to the academic year of the Macao Polytechnic University, which is subject to adjustments made by MPU.
