Bachelor of Arts in International Chinese Language Education
(Applicable to native speakers of Chinese)
Objectives
This programme, which is applicable to native speakers of Chinese, aims to cultivate quality professionals with a global vision and cross-cultural competence in response to the needs posed by the development of Macao, Portuguese-speaking countries and the international community. After four years of study, students will be able to make use of Chinese (Mandarin* and Cantonese), Portuguese and English to be engaged in such fields as commerce, trading, administrative management, cultural and language education, mass communication and creative industries.
* During the four year study, students who are native speakers of Chinese are required to pass the Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC) and obtain a certificate with the second category of Level 2 or above granted by State Language Commission of China.

Career Prospects
Graduates may be engaged in such fields as commerce, trading, administrative management, cultural and language education, mass communication and creative industries. They may also choose to pursue postgraduate education locally and abroad. By completing education-related learning modules, graduates are also eligible for the secondary school teacher qualification recognised by Macao’s Education and Youth Development Bureau.
