Biography
Qiu (Jo) Huang received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah and postdoctoral training at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Since July 2009, she has been with the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an Associate Research Professor. She is also an Adjunct “Guangci” professor at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Ruijin Hospital. She is now a visiting Associate Professor at Macao Polytechnic University. Dr. Huang has been the principal investigator in research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has co-authored more than 100 scientific papers and 30 patents. Her research interests involve (1) medicine imaging instrumentation design, for instance, X-ray and gamma-ray imaging systems with high performance; (2) imaging algorithm design, such as the image reconstruction algorithms in nuclear medicine imaging, and kinetic modeling in dynamic PET and SPECT for early diagnosis of diseases; (3) image processing and analysis, for example deep learning methods in image segmentation and radiomics analysis to solve clinical problems.
