Students from the Bachelor of Arts in Chinese–English Translation and Interpretation at the Faculty of Languages and Translation (FLT), Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), continue to demonstrate exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. The programme, known for its solid integration of theory and practice, nurtures highly competitive language talents with strong international perspectives. Two outstanding students of the Class of 2025, Peng Yifei and Zhu Yifan, have been admitted to world-renowned postgraduate programmes at the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the University of Hong Kong, University College London, among others—further attesting to the programme’s strong internationalisation and disciplinary excellence.

During his studies at MPU, Peng Yifei actively engaged in interpreting at international exhibitions and undertook translation work for law firms and artificial intelligence projects. He successfully passed the national CATTI (China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters) translation qualification examination and won the Second Prize in the China–Foreign Cultural Exchange Cup Translation Competition. His remarkable academic and professional performance earned him admission offers from leading institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Driven by a passion for education, Zhu Yifan devoted himself to English teaching volunteer work, translation services, and student union activities. He achieved Second Place in the Macau regional round of the 21st Century Cup English Speech Competition. He has been admitted to the Master of Education programme at the University of Hong Kong, along with several TESOL-related programmes.

Graduates of this year’s cohort have likewise achieved excellent results. Many have received offers from prestigious universities such as the National University of Singapore, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Warwick, and the University of Melbourne, while others have embarked on professional careers in translation, education, and related fields.

Aligned with Macao’s strategic positioning as a platform for international exchange and cooperation, FLT remains committed to nurturing versatile language professionals with strong linguistic competence, cultural awareness, and cross-cultural communication abilities. In the 2025/2026 academic year, FLT launched mainland China’s first Doctor of Applied Language Sciences, a pioneering programme integrating artificial intelligence and corpus technologies to advance linguistic theory and professional practice. Looking ahead, FLT will continue to deepen international collaboration, enhance its global impact in intercultural studies, and contribute to the development of high-quality language professionals for the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and the international community, empowering students to realise their potential and advance confidently onto the global stage.
