World Chinese-Portuguese Translation Competition

Since 2017, with the strong support of the Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, the Asia-Pacific Headquarters of China Media Group, the Language Big Data Alliance (LBDA) and the Portuguese Polytechnics Coordinating Council (CCISP), the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macao Polytechnic University co-organized the World Chinese-Portuguese Translation Competition, and the competition received enthusiastic responses.  The holding of the competition is of significant importance for coordinating with the Nation’s “Belt and Road Initiative” and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting the friendly economic and trade relations between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, promoting the teaching of Portuguese and translation in China, and played an important role in motivating students from higher education institutions in Macao and Mainland to learn Portuguese and students from Portuguese-speaking countries to learn Chinese.
