MPU Holds the “Integrity Seminar for Higher Education Students” to Foster Students’ Sense of Integrity and Legal Awareness

To enhance students’ sense of integrity and legal awareness, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) invited the representative from the Commission Against Corruption of Macao SAR Government to deliver the “Integrity Seminar for Higher Education Students” centred around the law regarding “Prevention and Suppression of Bribery in the Private Sector”. This seminar attracted the participation of 200 students. Through detailed explanations, case studies and thematic video analysis, students gained a deeper understanding of the roles of the Commission Against Corruption, learned about the constitutive elements of the crimes of active bribery and passive bribery, and were reminded to stay alert to corruption traps in the workplace while upholding integrity and righteousness.

Students remarked that the seminar broadened their knowledge of integrity and anti corruption, strengthened their legal awareness and sense of social responsibility, and reinforced the principle that integrity and compliance are both a legal red line and a cornerstone of professional conduct. The seminar provided timely guidance for those students who are about to enter the workforce, highlighting the importance of staying alert to corruption traps and recognising that honesty and compliance are the foundation of professional development and personal reputation.

The Student Affairs Office, who organised this activity, emphasized that MPU has always attached great importance to students’ holistic development by actively collaborating with government departments, non-governmental organisations, and local and international enterprises, providing a robust platform for students’ comprehensive learning and growth. These initiatives aim to nurture students and cultivate them into leaders who bring positive impacts to society, building a solid foundation for their future development.
