Macao Polytechnic University Hosts “Fire Prevention and First-Aid Knowledge Seminar” to Enhance Fire Safety Awareness Among University Students

To strengthen students’ fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, the Student Affairs Office of MPU recently invited representatives from the Fire Services Bureau of Macao SAR to deliver a seminar on “Fire Prevention and First-Aid Knowledge.” This seminar aimed to equip students with correct fire emergency measures, enhance their fire safety awareness, and improve their basic first-aid knowledge and skills.
The “Fire Prevention and First-Aid Knowledge” seminar covered various topics, including explanations by representatives from the Fire Services Bureau on the causes of fires, daily fire hazards, common firefighting equipment and their correct usage, and key principles for escaping fire scenes. Students also learned essential self-rescue knowledge and response methods during fire accidents. Paramedics then introduced an overview of the rescue services provided by the Fire Services Bureau, general wound treatment procedures and first-aid techniques. Students who attended the lecture stated that fire safety is closely related to daily life, and having fire prevention awareness helps reduce the occurrence of fire accidents and also the mastering of emergency response skills. They found the content of the lecture practical and useful.
