MPU’s national flag team receives training from PLA Macao to promote patriotism and love for Macao

To deepen the education and core values of patriotism and love for Macao, the national flag team of Macao Polytechnic University received its first training of the new academic year on 28 September, conducted by the People’s Liberation Army Macao Garrison Taipa Barracks (PLA). The team acquired solid skills in military posture, marching and formation, while also practising the essentials of flag-raising, including flag holding, flag hanging, and flag displaying. During the training, PLA representatives encouraged the team to master as many skills as possible for the team’s future promotion of patriotism and love for the region.

The student national flag team of Macao Polytechnic University, composed of students from various degree programmes, was established in 2018 to conduct flag-raising ceremonies at university events and on important dates. The university expresses its gratitude to the garrison for their support over the years. Under the careful guidance of the instructors, a solid foundation has been laid for the university's national flag team. The Student Affairs Office will continue to support the team in participation of various patriotic activities, enhancing students' sense of responsibility and mission, as well as boosting their sense of national identity and pride.
