MPI Students Celebrate the Year of the Tiger

To welcome the Year of the Tiger and to promote the profound Chinese culture, Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) celebrated the Chinese New Year with its students. Through warm and lively new year's Activities, students passed season’s greetings and blessings to one another.  They were also encouraged to maintain a positive attitude towards study and life in the coming year and pursue excellence in their life goals.

The Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic Institute and the Mainland Students’ Association jointly organised the “Spring Festival Celebration” activity, in which the students made dumplings, writing Chinese New Year couplets, sang new year songs and played a game of solitaire with New Year wishes. Mr Liu Xinyu, Chairman of the Mainland Students’ Association, said that the Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese people and that Macao Polytechnic Institute is the home of students.  Chinese New Year is a festival for reunion, sharing happiness and expressing hopes.  He added that he is very grateful to be able to get together with the MPI family to welcome the Year of the Tiger and celebrate the New Year together on this important traditional Chinese day.

The Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute organised a series of activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year, including making Chinese New Year food, writing Spring Festival couplets, team competitions, climbing and hiking, etc. so that students could review and summarize their studies in the past year and look forward to the Year of the Tiger and continue to improve themselves and reach a higher level.
