This seminar will provide music programme students and faculties with a comprehensive overview of the techniques and nuances involved in interpreting and performing French art songs, exploring the intersection of piano artistry and the beauty of French art songs. Students will have the opportunity to delve into the unique characteristics of French art songs, learn about renowned composers and their works, and understand the stylistic elements that define this genre. Additionally, the session will focus on the art of accompanying singers in French art songs, emphasizing the importance of phrasing, dynamics, and expression in creating a cohesive and captivating musical performance. By attending this seminar, students can deepen their understanding of piano artistry and develop a deeper appreciation for the rich tradition of French art songs, further enriching their musical knowledge and repertoire.
