簡介：

Introduction：

林嘉裕是一位專注於竹藝的當代藝術家,師承香港末代竹蒸籠師傅呂明。2021年，她的首批竹藝作品於香港巴塞爾藝術展中展出。2022年，她的作品分別於香港、日本及加拿大展出，更代表香港工藝師參加倫敦工藝週。林嘉裕以其創作傳承香港非物質文化遺產工藝，同時把竹轉化成為藝術語言，將中國古代工藝美學帶進當代藝術。

 

2023年，香港竹藝家林嘉裕受西貢海藝術節委託，創作大型戶外竹編藝術裝置《帆》。在此次講座中，林嘉裕將分享《帆》的創作過程，探討她如何與西貢海藝術節的策展人及當地社區進行合作，打破藝術與社區間的壁壘。透過其創作，林氏不僅在傳承香港的非物質文化遺產，還致力傳遞西貢海的地方文化和精神。

 

此外，講座後將特設工作坊活動，藝術家會簡短講解蒸籠工藝在香港的歷史。參加者將會親手製作蒸籠蓋，學習蒸籠技藝的六個重要傳統工序。

 

In 2023, Hong Kong bamboo artist Inkgo Lam was commissioned by the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival to create a large outdoor bamboo weaving installation titled "Sails." This remarkable work combines more than a dozen kinds of bamboo weaving craftsmanship. During the project's early stages, Lam studied the structure of sails with the villagers of Kau Sai Chau and learnt to make fishing nets from them.  

 

Through this creation, Lam not only seeks to preserve Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage but also to convey the local culture and spirit of Sai Kung Hoi.

 

In this seminar, Lam will share the creative process behind "Sails" and discuss her collaboration with the curators of the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival and the local community, breaking down the barriers between art and community.

 

A creative workshop will be conducted after the talk. Lam will briefly introduce the history of steamer craftsmanship in Hong Kong and share her interesting story of her apprenticeship. Participants will personally make a steamer lid and learn the six essential steps of making a traditional bamboo steamer. Each participant can bring home their handmade bamboo steamer lid along with a bamboo steamer base as a gift from us, completing a Guangdong bamboo steamer set.

 

Lam Ka Yu, Inkgo (b. 1992, Hong Kong) graduated from the department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014 and now is a contemporary artist specializing in bamboo craftsmanship. Lam is the apprentice of Master Lui Ming and aspires to create contemporary bamboo artworks of Chinese aesthetics through traditional techniques.

 

In 2020, Lam started learning bamboo steamer making, one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage items of Hong Kong. Her works were featured in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Vancouver etc. She was also invited as a representative of Hong Kong artisan to attend London Craft Week 2023. She hopes to pass the intangible cultural heritage on, and at the same time, transform bamboo into the language of art, along with the wish to bring the aesthetics of ancient Chinese art to the contemporary stage.
