Macao Polytechnic Insitiute holds a Student Crisis Intervention and Handling Techniques Seminar
Representatives of the Youth Concern Group of Community Policing and Public Relations Division of the Judiciary Police present negotiation techniques to MPI staff

In order to consistently optimise the crisis intervention and handling skills of staff and to cultivate a mutually caring atmosphere for the campus, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute orgainsed a “Student Crisis Intervention and Handling Techniques Seminar”. Representatives from the Judiciary Police alongside approximately a hundred MPI delegates were invited to attend this pragmatic and information filled seminar.

Mr Cheong Kim Fong, functional head of Youth Concern Group of the Community Policing and Public Relations Division of the Judiciary Police  and his team, introduced the work of the crisis negotiation group of the bureau and shared their experience, as well as discussing theories and real cases. They focused on sharing the skills needed to intervene in a student crisis and how to mitigate the development of a situation. The seminar helped frontline staff learn and master basic crisis management skills and strategies, as well as to enhance staff’s understanding of details such as crisis handling procedures and work distribution, thereby enhancing campus security and crisis prevention.
