MPU to Build an Examination and Certification Center in Macao

MPU Provides Professional Certification Service

In line with The Second Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2021-2025) (the Second Five-Year Plan) and the MSAR Government’s administrative work, Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) is expanding its international and national examination and certification services and offering more types of continuing education courses to build an examination and certification center in Macao and help the moderate diversification of Macao’s economy.

In response to the needs of Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for national and international examination and certification, MPU is actively building an examination and certification center in Macao to serve students and residents of Macao and the Greater Bay Area and promote the international and professional development of talents. MPU has established a number of examination and certification centers in cooperation with national and international authoritative institutions, and regularly organized various types of language tests, professional qualification certifications, and training courses. To meet the needs of the residents in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, MPU not only provides language testing services for International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT), Portuguese Language Testing (LAPE), Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC), College English Test (CET), and Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Tutorial Course, but also offers services for professional skills certification, including China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) and American College Testing (ACT). In terms of professional qualification certification, MPU has assisted in establishing a mutual recognition and evaluation system for engineers in Guangdong and Macao, cooperated with the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) to promote the popularization of gaming information technology standardization in Asia, and established the MPU-BMM Testing Centre for Gaming Devices with BMM Australia Pty Ltd, providing technical certification for gaming equipment, quality testing, IT network security assessments, mathematical analysis of games, and other services for institutions in Macao and beyond. In addition, MPU also offers a series of continuing education courses in health, gaming technology, gaming management, information technology, financial management, culture and tourism, commerce and trade, business management, social work, and arts and design.

As a university rooted in Macao and based on the nation, MPU will provide more vocational qualification training and certification courses as well as language and professional testing services in line with the needs of Macao and the country. At the same time, MPU will further strengthen its cooperation with universities in the Greater Bay Area, actively promote Macao’s role as an examination and certification center, and attract more students from the Greater Bay Area to participate in various examinations and training courses in Macao, so as to contribute to the moderate diversification of Macao’s economy.
