MPU Cultural and Creative Industries Teaching and Research Centre Organises Visual Arts Lectures to Broaden Cultural and Creative Visions
In an effort to expand cultural and creative horizons and foster the creativity and innovation skills of teachers and students, the Cultural and Creative Industries Teaching and Research Centre of the Faculty of Arts and Design at Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) organised a series of visual arts lectures. The lectures featured Professor Ding Yuehua from Chongqing Normal University and Assistant Professor Ken Tso Hung Kit, from Lingnan University, as guest speakers. The events were attended by MPU teachers and students as well as secondary school students.
The lecture titled “Visual Imagery Generation: Design Exploration of Creation and Creativity” provided valuable insights by Professor Ding Yuehua. She elaborated on the concept of visual imagery generation, its logic, and presented teaching cases. Professor Ding analysed the pivotal role of connecting visual imagery with creative thinking, demonstrating how inspiration can be translated into an expressive design language to create aesthetically pleasing and functional pieces.
Assistant Professor Ken Tso Hung Kit shared design cases under the theme of “Digital & Arts”. He addressed the challenges faced by artistic creation in the digital age and proposed corresponding solutions to promote the positive development of digital arts and enrich the diversity of the arts ecosystem.
The lectures served as a platform for teachers and students to engage with industry experts and ignite their creative potential in the realms of visual arts and digital media. The Cultural and Creative Industries Teaching and Research Centre at MPU will continue organising a series of art education activities, aiming to further advance the development of the cultural and creative industries while nurturing a new generation of artistic talents in Macao.
