MPU Teachers and Students' Works Excel at National Art Exhibition
The “14th National Art Exhibition for Works from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Artists,” organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Chinese Artists Association, has opened. After multiple rounds of evaluation, a total of 293 selected works were chosen, including 14 works from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) at the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), a result that is truly inspiring.
Among the selected works, Shi Jun, a lecturer in the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts Programme at MPU, had his oil painting “Macau Macau” selected, while graduates Ng Sang Kei and Leung Tat Hung had their sculptures “Spin Up” and “East Wind Rises Again 2” recognised as works to be exhibited in Beijing, showcasing the excellent teaching outcomes of MPU. Other selected teachers and graduates include Iam Wai Man, Li Tak Seng, Leong Sin Teng, Ieong Wan Si, Cheong Hang Fong, Lu Shao Yi, Tong Chong, Fong Wai Peng, Lao Chon Hong, Lam Un Mei, and Kuok Chi Kei.
The National Art Exhibition is the largest, most extensive, and most influential national comprehensive art exhibition in China, encompassing a wide range of art categories. Founded in 1949, this exhibition has now completed its fourteenth edition. This year’s works include Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, watercolour painting, and murals, providing a comprehensive display of the latest achievements and highest standards in national art creation.
