The Student Affairs Office (SAO) of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) has been organising a series of corporate visit in order to broaden students’ global horizons and strengthen the cooperation between higher education institutions and companies. Recently, SAO organised a student field trip visiting one of the top four international accounting firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers (Macau) Ltd. (PwC), to deepen students the understanding of different industries, provide students the opportunity to learn the management culture and experience from outstanding companies, as well as enhancing their employment competitiveness.

Students of various majors, including Accounting, Computing, E-commerce, etc., visited PwC and were warmly welcomed by Mr. Li Ching Lap Bernard, a partner of the firm. PwC is one of the top accounting firms in the world and its main services include auditing, taxation, human resources, crisis management, etc. The visit enabled students to learn the corporate culture of PwC, the development opportunities of accounting professionals in the Greater Bay Area, as well as the high demand for cybersecurity talents in the era of artificial intelligence and big data.

Mr. Sun, who is majoring in Accounting, said that he can learn accounting knowledge in school but rarely has the opportunity to experience the work of accountants. This corporate visit effectively helped students to understand the daily work of accountants and the operation of accounting firms in real life. Mr. Hou, who is majoring in Computing, said that experience sharing of the management from PwC deepened his understanding of the company, as well as providing guidance for his future career planning. He benefited from this visit a lot.
