Sustainability Education

Understanding sustainable development is crucial to motivating communal engagement in sustainability. The learning module “Sustainable Development” is mandatory in our undergraduate curriculum as a systematic means to raise the awareness of sustainable development amongst the youth.

Module Sustainable Development
Module Description The learning module aims to enable students to understand global developments and relevant trends as well as concepts of sustainable development in relation to promoting economic growth, protecting the environment and addressing community needs in education, health and social security. Students will be able to identify and recognize factors contributing to sustainable development in the environmental, socio-economic and other domains with a strong sense of global citizenship.

Assessment:
Students are required to complete assessment activities stated in the module outline, which may include in-class participation, mid-term report and final examination. The assessment standards are in accordance with the University’s Assessment Strategy for Degree Programmes. A passing grade means that a student has achieved the expected learning results of this learning module, and thus has obtained corresponding credits.
The utilization of in-class participation, examination and report as assessment tools enables a holistic evaluation of students' sustainability knowledge and literacy. This multifaceted approach incorporates theoretical assessments and practical projects, providing a well-rounded assessment to evaluate students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to address real-world sustainability challenges.
